Kamloops RCMP say a man was arrested after a report that a woman was screaming for help inside a hotel room in the city yesterday morning.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says officers were called at 10:15 a.m. to a hotel on the 300-block of St. Paul Street – the DoubleTree by Hilton – for reports of a woman “screaming for help and something about a stabbing.”
“No specific room number was provided, resulting in officers having to search two floors to find the source of the scream. No stabbing had occurred,” she said.
Evelyn did confirm that a man was arrested for multiple offences, including assault, breach, and forcible confinement. His identity was not released, but he remains in police custody and is expected to appear in court later today.
