
Kamloops RCMP say three people were arrested on Saturday morning for allegedly going through vehicles and backyards near Battle Street and Columbia Street.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says around 11 a.m. that day, police were able to find two of men, noting the the third was pointed out to them by a witness.
“All three were arrested and transported to cells. One man was later released with a court date, pending charge recommendation and approval; another was held on warrants for a separate file, and a third was charged in relation to this occurrence and remanded in custody,” Evelyn added.
Tristan Fernandez, a 24-year-old Kamloops man, is charged with one count of mischief for willfully breaking a vehicle window and smashing the ignition lock.
He’s also charged with failing to comply with probation order by possessing a knife as well as for being in the driver’s seat of a vehicle he did not own while the owner was not in the vehicle. He’s also charged with possessing an instrument suitable for breaking into a motor vehicle without a valid excuse.
Fernandez is due in court next Monday, May 17. The identities of the other two men were not released.
