A COVID-19 exposure is being reported at Sa-Hali Secondary School in Kamloops.
Interior Health says the exposure event at the school happened on four days last week, May 10 to the May 13 respectively.
As has been the policy, school officials say if parents haven’t been contacted by public health teams, their kids are not believed to be at risk of developing COVID-19.
The other active COVID exposure in the Kamloops-area is at Valleyview Secondary (May 3 to 7). At the start of the day, there was also an exposure at Chase Secondary from April 30, but that is no longer considered to be active.
SD73 Superintendent Terry Sullivan told NL News he’s pleased there wasn’t a spike in COVID-19 school exposures after spring break. However, he is still asking people to be vigilant for the rest of the school year to avoid things getting out of control.
Elsewhere, there are also 11 schools in Kelowna-area that are currently affected by COVID exposures.
If you have questions or concerns about COVID-19, you’re also asked to contact 811.
