The City of Kamloops will be opening its spray parks for the season this Friday.
Recreation, Health and Wellness Supervisor, Linda Stride, says the water parks at Albert McGowan Park, Riverside Park, Westsyde Park, and McDonald Park will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week, throughout the summer.
Further, the wading pool at Prince Charles Park will also be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week. It will have a maximum capacity of 40 people to comply with the provincial health order.
“We are asking users of the wading pool for co-operation and self-monitoring to adhere to protocols to avoid closure of this public space,” Stride said. “Although outdoors, it’s important to follow the provincial health orders that are in place to avoid gathering in groups and to maintain physical distancing.”
“We hope that residents can abide by the pool capacity to allow the facility to remain open for the summer.”
Stride says all kids have to be supervised at these parks, and they will need to wash or sanitize their hands before and after using the facilities. People are also being told to maintain physical distancing and avoid gathering in groups.
