Interior Health has issued a drug alert for the Merritt area.
The health authority says ecstasy (MDMA/MDA) is being laced with MDA and fentanyl before being sold. IHA says it is a beige/off-white pressed pill with a lightning bolt that crumbles easily.
People are being told to get their drugs checked as people are at a risk of overdosing.
You can get your drugs checked at ASK Wellness in Merritt, while naloxone kits and training is available at ASK Wellness, Nicola Valley Health Centre, Pharmasave, and the Extra Foods Pharmacy.
The alert will be in effect until May 28.
