Interior Health says just over 100 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 during a four-hour long clinic in the Cascades Casino parking lot on Sunday.
The clinic was set up between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. yesterday, and it was the first pop-up vaccine clinic of its kind so far in Kamloops. Anyone aged 12 and older who hadn’t yet gotten a first dose of the COVID vaccine was eligible to attend without an appointment.
IH says many people who showed up to clinic “indicated that they would not have been able to attend some of our other clinics for various personal reasons.”
As of this morning, more than 82,000 vaccine doses have been administered in Kamloops, including 71,401 first doses and 10,251 second doses.
On Friday, the province said 72.4 per cent of people aged 18 and older in B.C. had gotten at least one vaccine dose, while five per cent of adults were fully vaccinated.
