Kamloops RCMP say a suspect is in custody after an armed robbery at a business on the 1200-block of Summit Drive this morning.
Police are still on the look out for a second suspect. They also believe a truck fire reported shortly after on the 1300-block of Summit Drive may be connected to this morning’s robbery, which is believed to have taken place at McCleaners.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says a woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after she was stabbed around 7:13 a.m. today.
“Police are asking anyone who saw, heard, or captured video footage that may be related to the robbery or truck fire to please contact police as soon as possible,” Kamloops RCMP Officer in Charge of Operations, Inspector Jeff Pelley, said, in a statement.
“Addressing this kind of violence and crime remains a top priority for us and we’re asking for the public’s help in continuing to move this investigation forward.”
The suspects were described as white men on bicycles. One was wearing a long green camo jacket and dark pants, while the other was in dark clothing.
Officers were responding to a panic alarm from the business but were told while on route that a person at had been robbed and stabbed.
Following that call, Evelyn says several other police officers responded including the Police Dog team, the General Investigation Services Team, and the RCMP’s Forensic Identification Services team.
