
Kamloops is known to get pretty hot in the summer but this week has stretched even the most tolerable.
Local sports in the city are seeing postponements and cancellations. The Kamloops Youth Soccer Association will postpone activities for another night today.
Technical Director Ciaran McMahon tells NL Sports they are hoping to get back to gameplay by the weekend, adding just the Select Program is currently running.
Kamloops Men’s and Women’s Recreational Soccer games have also been on pause since Saturday. Teams are following BC Soccer guidelines which sets the threshold for gameplay at 40 C plus the humidex at game time.
Major Men’s Fastball games have also been called off for tonight with just one other game scheduled for Thursday night.
Temperatures in the Kamloops area are expected to drop to the low 30 C by the weekend.
