If you’re missing a wooden urn, chances are Kamloops RCMP want to talk to you.

Police say they were contacted about a wooden urn and what appeared to be a bag of ashes that was turned into a local shelter last month.

Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says the items were reportedly found in a dumpster, but police have not been able to locate the owners.

“Police have been unable to determine exactly what the ashes are at this time, but encourage anyone who may know anything about the box’s origins to please contact the Kamloops RCMP,” she said.
