A potential COVID-19 exposure is being reported at the Canada Games Pool at the Tournament Capital Centre (TCC) in Kamloops.
The City says it was told by Interior Health that two people who were at the pool in the afternoon of July 30, have since tested positive for the virus.
Interior Health will be contacting everyone who was at a public swim from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. that day, asking them to isolate for 14 days from that date, until at least August 13.
The City’s Community and Protective Services Director, Byron McCorkell, told NL News approximately 150 people went through the pool during that timeframe.
“TCC staff are not required to isolate as the nature of their work keeps them physically distanced from guests of the facility,” he said.
“Everyone, including TCC staff, is required to monitor symptoms.”
McCorkell says a list of everyone at the pool impacted by this potential exposure has been made available to Interior Health.
It is as even though the City is no longer required to have people register for contract tracing purposes, people are still required to register prior to using the Canada Games Pool.
