Mounties say a 69-year-old man was killed in Sheridan Lake late last week.
Members of 100 Mile House RCMP were called on Friday to a home near the community in the southern Cariboo, to reports of a sudden, unexpected death.
After the initial response, the sudden death was deemed a homicide, and the North District Major Crime Unit is now leading the investigation.
While providing essentially no further details, Staff Sgt. Svend Nielsen suggests the killing was targeted. “At this stage in the investigation, this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.”
Nielsen says RCMP members will remain at the rural property for the next few days as part of the investigation.
So far, no one has been arrested in connection to the incident.
Anyone with information related to the homicide is being asked to call 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456, or 1-800-222-8477.
