A sad end to the search for a missing 75-year-old man who was reported missing at the end of August.
RCMP in Ashcroft say Joseph Zabotel was found dead in a forested area not far from his home in the 1700-block of Highway 99 between Cache Creek and Lillooet. He was considered a “high risk” missing person as he suffered from dementia and was not properly dressed for the weather.
“[We want to thank the public] for keeping an eye out for the missing man, and offers his condolences to the family whose love for their relative was apparent,” Cpl. Jeffrey Raffle said, in a brief update on Monday.
Spokesperson Const. Richard Wright told NL News last week that police had followed up on a few tips they’ve received following Zabotel’s disappearance on August 29.
