Kamloops RCMP say a local man is in custody for theft as well as for breaching his conditions after an early-morning scooter stop in Dallas.
RCMP say around 1:45 a.m. Thursday morning, Sept. 16, an officer was patrolling the area near Kokanee Way when he recognized the man who was pushing the scooter along on the sidewalk.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says police checks revealed the scooter had been reported stolen and the man was on probation.
Mark Erin Nelson, 42, now faces four charges – possessing stolen property and break-in instruments (a pry bar, bolt cutters, and glass punch) as well as for failing to comply with probation orders.
He was scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.
