Kamloops RCMP say one man is in custody and another is in hospital after officers were called to Royal Inland Hospital to a report of a person with life-threatening injuries on Wednesday afternoon.
RCMP Inspector Jeff Pelley says officers were called around 3:46 p.m. on Oct. 6 after a person came to the emergency room with a stab wound. In a statement, he says police arrested a man at a Brandon Avenue address on the North Shore after they were able to identify a potential suspect and crime scene.
“Thanks to the collaboration of frontline officers and other available RCMP resources, police were able to make a quick arrest in this serious incident and promptly move forward the investigation,” Pelley said.
As of Thursday morning, police say they are still investigating at the Brandon Avenue address.
“The parties involved were known to each other and the general public is not believed to be at risk,” Pelley said. “The victim is in stable condition.”
