Kamloops RCMP are asking people to be the lookout for some “distinctive cultural items” that were stolen during a recent break-in at the Henry Grube Education Centre.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says police were told about the theft around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20. She says the theft likely happened around 6 p.m. the previous night, Oct. 19.
The items stolen from a storage container included cultural animal puppets, basket and hatchet, colourful First Nations blankets, and modern snowshoes.
“If anyone took these items, or knows who did, please do the right thing and return them to the place they were stolen from, or contact police,” she said.
