Kamloops RCMP are investigating after a stabbing on Halloween night sent two men to hospital with serious injuries.
Mounties were called to Royal Inland Hospital at 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 31 after one man showed up to the hospital with-non life threatening injuries “consistent with knife slashes.” RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says police were able to get a description of a suspect from this man.
“About five minutes later, police were called to a disturbance in the area of Battle Street and Fourth Avenue, which involved yelling and a man bleeding from his head,” Evelyn said. “A man was located with what appeared to be blunt-force trauma injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.”
Evelyn says that second man was arrested as part of the investigation as he matched the description of the suspect.
Police believe the stabbing took place in front of a business in the 400-block of Seymour Street, near the Rex Theatre.
“Frontline officers and the Police Dog Services Unit attended, located and seized evidence,” Evelyn added.
Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the incident is being told to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-38333.
