Charges are expected to be laid after police seized firearms, drugs and stolen bikes from an apartment unit on the North Shore.
Police were called to an apartment at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the 300-block of Tranquille Road, with reports to police asking for help to remove squatters in a unit where there were concerns of criminal activity.
Mounties say when they arrived, they determined the tenants in the unit were the lawful occupants, but two stolen e-bikes were in plain sight in their unit.
“In recognizing that stolen property was present in the apartment, police arrested the two lawful tenants, then held the scene so a search warrant could be obtained and executed,” Kamloops RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn said.
Police then seized three modified sawed-off long-barrel shotguns from the unit, as well as the two e-bikes, a “high-end mountain bike,” and what’s believed to be illicit drugs.
The investigation into the situation is ongoing, and charges are expected to be recommended to the Crown, according to police.
