Stuff the Cruiser 2021 event
The community gathered together to support the Stuff the Cruiser 2021 event, on Saturday Dec. 4th, from 11am and 3 pm.
The fundraiser was organized by the City of Kamloops and the RCMP Crime prevention team. The idea was to collect as many donations and toys possible, to give to those in need during the holidays.
The total donations resulted in almost $1000 in cash and cards, and two full vans loading with gifts of all shapes and sizes. Kamloops Community Services Liaison Sandro Piroddi says “there was no goal [to meet], but it is fair to say the generosity of the citizens of Kamloops made the event a great success”.
All of the donations will be delivered to Christmas Amalgamated on the North Shore to sort and distribute in holiday hampers. If you did not get a chance to make it to the event, do not fear. Piroddi says donations can still be given to Christmas Amalgamated, which is located at the Brock Shopping Centre.
If you’re looking to support more great causes this holiday season, Kamloops RCMP Detachment also has an in-house food collection underway to support those in need.
With Stuff the Cruiser being an outdoor event, it allowed for Covid-19 safety restrictions to be maintained. All volunteers and staff were required to wear masks during the event, and were provided with hand sanitizer.
