Break and enter on New years day, 2022. suspect vehicles caught on surveillance camera
Kamloops RCMP are investigating a break and enter from New Years Day, where more than half a dozen firearms were stolen from a house in Pineview.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says police were called to the 1900 block of Englemann Court around 12:25 a.m. on Jan. 1, after a resident at the house noticed a unknown Dodge pickup in their driveway when they returned home.
“[The pickup] quickly sped away along with another truck nearby,” Evelyn said. “According to the report, the pickup was backed into the garage door and the suspects broke into the house from there.”
Revolvers, shotguns, rifles, and a carbine were among the items stolen, according to police, though Evelyn says there is nothing to suggest that the firearms were not stored properly.
“Surveillance footage revealed the suspect vehicle was near the residence around 11:34 p.m., then returned around 12:13 a.m.,” she added. “Several men are believed to have been involved; one was wearing red footwear.”
The suspect vehicles are described as:
- Silver Dodge pickup truck, possible plate of KWH 887
- White Dodge pickup truck, unknown plate
Anyone who recognizes the vehicles or has information related to the investigation is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2022-05.
