Kamloops RCMP are asking people to be on the lookout after 30 Chromebooks worth thousands of dollars were stolen from Parkcrest Elementary at George Hilliard in Brocklehurst last week.
In a statement, RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says the school was broken into around 1:35 a.m. last Monday, Jan. 3. She says thieves pried their way into a portable classroom and stole the computers.
“Whoever is responsible for this crime literally stole from children,” she said. “If you know someone who suddenly came into possession of a Chromebook, or is selling them second hand, please contact police so we can investigate further and hopefully return some of these learning tools back to the kids who need them.”
If you have any information, you’re asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2022-431.
