UPDATE – Merritt RCMP say Jonathan Charlie has been arrested.

“We would like to thank you and the public for their assistance with this matter,” Sgt. Josh Roda said.

ORIGINAL -RCMP in Merritt are asking for help in finding a local man who is wanted for assault.

Sgt. Josh Roda says police are looking for Jonathan Charlie who was charged in December after an assault at a house on Menzies Street on Nov. 11 of last year. Roda says a woman was assaulted by a suspect who fled the scene before police got there.

“An endorsed warrant was issued for his arrest,” Roda said on Wednesday.

Charlie is described as an Indigenous man, standing five-foot-nine, weighing approximately 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
