A Kamloops man is in custody after police say they responded to an erratic driving complaint involving a stolen vehicle.
Const. Crystal Evelyn says just after 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 16, police were told about a silver Sebring being driven erratically on Summit Drive.
“Within minutes of the call, police were contacted by the vehicle’s driver, who had just watched it being driven away from the 100-block of Vernon Avenue,” she said, in a statement. “At approximately 11:30 a.m., officers located the Sebring on the 1400-block of Summit Drive and arrested a suspect.”
Craig Curtis Kopichanski, 30, has been charged with one count each of motor vehicle theft, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and drive while disqualified.
Evelyn says he was also arrested on a warrant for failing to comply with a probation order.
Kopichanski was remanded in custody with a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 31.
