Kamloops RCMP say a break-in at the Lorne Street pump station near Riverside Park over the weekend led to thousands of dollars in damage.
Const. Crystal Evelyn says police were told about the break-in around 10:50 a.m. on Monday morning, Jan. 24.
She says large diameter electric cables were cut and stolen leading to over $10,000 in damage to the pumps.
“If anyone saw anything suspicious at or near the pump station this weekend or knows someone who suddenly came into possession of large electric cables, please let us know,” she said. “When people steal or damage City property, it impacts all those who live here.”
If you have information, or if you witnessed the break in, you’re asked to contact Kamloops RCMP and reference file number 2022-2519.
