Kamloops Mounties say they arrested the same woman for shoplifting two days in a row this week.
Const. Crystal Evelyn says the first arrest was on Tuesday, Mar. 8, near the Real Canadian Superstore in Sahali, while the second arrest was at a retail store on Hillside Drive sometime today, Mar. 9.
“As police officers located the woman across the street, the employee informed them that a man she had been with was now attempting to leave the store with a buggy of unpaid items,” Evelyn said, in a statement. “An officer was waiting for the man as he exited the store and quickly took him into custody.”
She says the stolen goods were returned to the store and the two suspects were released with a court date, pending the investigation’s conclusion.
However, Evelyn says that same woman and a different man were arrested for shoplifting around 2:40 p.m. this afternoon at the unidentified store on Hillside Drive. As of her 4 p.m. statement, she says the pair are being held in custody for a bail hearing.
If you witnessed the incidents or have information about either, you are asked to contact Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2022-7339 or 2022-7488.
