
A 39-year-old Kamloops man has been charged after a stabbing at a motel on Columbia Street.
RCMP say Lewis Gabriel August is charged with one count of aggravated assault after a woman was stabbed at the Canada’s Best Value Inn and Suites around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15.
“When officers arrived, they located a woman with serious injuries consistent with a stab wound and quickly administered emergency first aid,” RCMP Staff Sgt. Todd Wiebe, said Tuesday.
Police say the woman, who was taken to hospital, is in a stable condition.
Lewis Gabriel August remains in custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for March 21.
RCMP are asking anyone who may have been in the area with dash cam footage, or may have seen what took place to call them at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2022-8270.
