It might be spring in the valley bottom, but a heads up if you’re heading to or from the Lower Mainland this weekend.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the entire Coquihalla highway from Kamloops to Hope because of the potential for flurries over the high mountain passes though to Saturday evening.
“Snow levels will remain at or below mountain pass levels in southern BC through the weekend,” Environment Canada said. “A disturbance approaching the south coast will cross into the southern interior tonight and exit the region late Saturday.”
It is not just the Coquihalla as the Okanagan Connector and Highway 3 between Hope and Princeton and between the Paulson Summit and Kootenay Pass will also see some flurries
“Snowfall accumulations are expected but will vary depending on location,” the statement added, noting drivers should be prepared for changing travel conditions.
