An evacuation alert for 27 homes in the Sicamous Creek Mobile Home Park has been lifted as the threat of a landslide has passed.
The alert for homes 1 to 27 in the mobile home park, south of Sicamous on Highway 97A, was issued last Thursday morning, May 5.
While the alert was in place through the weekend, the District of Sicamous noted on Friday that conditions in the Wiseman Creek area had improved. However, at that time, there was no indication when the alert would be lifted.
Monday morning, May 9, the CSRD said that the risk of potential danger to life, health, and property caused by the threat of a landslide has passed, meaning all of the properties that were on evacuation alert have been given the all clear.
“[However], due to the ongoing landslide risk in this area, residents are advised to stay informed,” the CSRD said.
