Merritt RCMP say four people were arrested after a BB gun assault on Monday sent a man to hospital.
In a statement, police say officers were called to the Nicola Valley Hospital yesterday, May 9, to reports that a man had sustained non-life threatening injuries after he was shot in the arms, body, and face with a BB gun.
“The incident is believed to be targeted as the victim and suspects were known to each other,” Const. Jon Puterbough said, in a statement.
Police say the alleged assault took place at a house on the 2700 block of Clapperton Avenue, about four kilometres from the hospital. They say the man was “held down and shot multiple times by some of the occupants.”
“Four suspects were taken into custody and a search warrant was executed by our General Investigation Section where it is alleged the assault occurred”, Puterbough added.
RCMP are asking people with information about incident to reach out to police, if they haven’t already. You can do so at 250-378-4262.
