Kamloops RCMP say a bone found by the airport on March 26 belonged to 22-year-old David Bosanac.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says police are now looking for more information surrounding Bosanac’s last movements, before he was reported missing on March 18.
“Since the initial discovery, police were able to obtain DNA to compare to the found bone, and can now confirm that it did indeed belong to Mr. Bosanac and that he is deceased,” Evelyn said, in a statement.
“Because the cause of Mr. Bosanac’s death is still unknown, police are not releasing what specific bone was discovered.”
Evelyn says the area where the bone was found has been searched extensively with “no other items of significance” found.
Police are asking for anyone who had contact with Bosanac around the time he was last heard from on Feb. 25, to reach out as soon as possible.
“At this time, the circumstances surrounding Mr. Bosanac’s death are still unknown and we’re hoping the public may have information that can help police better determine a timeline on his final days, providing some clues as to what happened,” Evelyn added, noting his family has asked for privacy.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-8707.
