Kamloops RCMP say a man was taken to hospital early last Friday with stab and slash wounds after a police officer was waved down on Victoria Street.
Const. Crystal Evelyn says the office was patrolling the area of Victoria Street and Fourth Avenue around 2:35 a.m. on June 3, when he was “alerted” to a man who had been assaulted with a weapon.
Evelyn says that man was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“While officers were responding, a man nearby was confrontational with police and interfering with the investigation,” Evelyn said. “He was arrested for obstruction and lodged in cells to sober up safely.”
Evelyn says RCMP want to speak to people who may have information about a man and a woman who allegedly left the area in a dark sedan.
If you happened to witness the incident, or have any information about it, you’re asked to contact Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2022-18634.
