Kamloops RCMP are asking people to avoid Sequoia Place in the West End of the city because of a police incident that is “restricting access” to the area.
No other details have been released at this time, but police are asking area residents to stay inside their homes until things have been cleared.
Callers to the NL Newsroom say the police response is due to a person in mental distress who may be armed, but that has not been confirmed by police.
RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says more details will be released when it becomes available.
