Kamloops RCMP say one man linked to an investigation out of Manitoba was arrested without incident in Lower Aberdeen around 5:30 yesterday evening.
Cpl. Dana Napier says there was a heavy police presence in the the 1100 block of Rogers Way – near the Esso Gas Station – as both the Kamloops Targeted Enforcement Unit (TEU) and the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) were working in collaboration with the Manitoba’s RCMP Major Crime Unit.
In a statement this morning, she said the undefined man is being held in custody.
“Using the specialized skills of ERT and TEU helps keep the arrest safer for everyone involved as well as the public and those related in the investigation,” Napier said, adding there is no further information to be released at this time, though more will be coming in the days ahead.
“As this investigation was lead by the Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Unit, any media inquiries will be managed by the Manitoba RCMP,” Napier said.
