Police say a Langley man was taken to Kamloops RCMP Detachment cells Tuesday, and is awaiting charge recommendations following a report of an aggressive man on a city bus.
On Tuesday afternoon at roughly 1:15 p.m., Mounties received a call to the 1200 block of Summit Drive, where a man was allegedly threatening someone and damaging a city bus.
Constable Crystal Evelyn with the Kamloops RCMP says upon arrival, officers found a bystander holding down the male suspect down.
Evelyn says the suspect was arrested and taken to cells, and was held in custody to sober up and calm down.
“Throughout his interaction with police, the suspect made threats directed at all police in general and continuously shouted racist comments at one of the responding officers.”
Police say he was released with a court date and charge recommendations are anticipated as part of the assessment process.
Anyone who witnessed, has information, or video footage related to this investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP.
