Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP are looking for witnesses and information after a robbery involving two people and a motorcycle around 10:20 last night.
Police say they were called to the 7000-block of the Trans Canada Highway in Savona after a man got into the Super Save Gas Station store, took out a firearm, and stole lottery tickets and cigarettes.
“The man fled from the store and jumped on the back of a black street motorcycle, driven by his accomplice who was waiting nearby,” RCMP Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said, in a statement.
The suspect was wearing a black and orange motorcycle helmet with a face guard and the numbers 509 on the side.
Evelyn says while patrolling the area, officers spotted a motorcycle with no license plate and two passengers travelling toward Deer Road. She says the vehicle fled when police tried to pull it over, though not before a bag containing the stolen merchandise was dropped.
“Officers retrieved the bag and returned the items to the store,” Evelyn said.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery, has dash cam footage or information related to it, is being told to contact Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 and reference file 2022-27763.
