The Kamloops RCMP say two young people were taken into custody following a robbery with bear spray on Thursday.

At around 4:50 p.m. on October 13, local Mounties responded to Valleyview Drive where two people tried to steal liquor and attempted to flee afterward.

Police say the staff members were hit with the bear spray when they confronted the two.

Corporal Crystal Evelyn with the Kamloops RCMP say officers were able to find one of the suspects nearby.

“Shortly after, police found and arrested the second suspect in a restaurant along the highway frontage road.”

Both were initially put in cells, but then released to a guardian with a court date and conditions.
