UPDATE 3:30 p.m. –

Highway 5, north of Barriere, is now open after a crash earlier this morning between Mitchell Road and Boulder Mountain Road.

Drive BC says the highway was closed in both directions from about 5:15 a.m. to about 7:50 a.m., when it opened to a single lane of alternating traffic.

A Facebook post from Skilled Truckers Canada showed a semi flipped on its side in the middle of the highway. No word on any injuries but they say the incident happened around 4:30 this morning.

The cause of the crash remains unclear.
