RCMP in Merritt are asking for help in identifying two suspects after a pair of schools in the Nicola Valley city were vandalized this month.
In a statement, Sgt. Josh Roda says back on Oct. 14, the windows at both Diamondville Elementary and Central Elementary were broken. Both suspects were caught on surveillance just after midnight that day wearing all black clothing with one wearing distinct black and white Nike running shoes.
Earlier this morning, Oct. 27, he says the side of Diamondville Elementary was spray painted with blue and yellow paint.
“We are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspects responsible for these disgusting acts of vandalism,” Roda said. “Our children deserve to feel safe in school and going to a building where windows are boarded up and obscene things are painted on it, is heart breaking.”
If you have any information, you’re asked to contact the Merritt RCMP at 250-378-4262.
