Kamloops RCMP say a woman was arrested and later released at the scene after a traffic stop on Westsyde Road led to the seizure of drugs and weapons.
Mounties say an officer on patrol stopped a white Mustang around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, to verify that the driver had a valid licence.
Corporal Crystal Evelyn says that officer spotted brass knuckles, a large knife as well as an axe handle near the driver’s seat. She also says that a bag of what is believed to be methamphetamine was seized.
“The woman was arrested for offences including possession of a prohibited weapon,” Evelyn said. “A further search located the drugs.”
While Evelyn says the drugs and weapons will be destroyed, there was no mention of any charges that might be coming.
