Kamloops, B.C. – A Way Home Kamloops is hosting our annual Camp Out to End Youth Homelessness fundraiser. The first decision of our new Kamloops City Council after adopting the agenda was to Proclaim Camp Out to End Youth Homelessness week December 9th-14th.
On December 14th, community members are asked to camp out in cardboard boxes at Mastermind Studio. There will be fun activities and a full itinerary of events to follow in another press release.
Campers are being pledged to camp out to help raise funds for A Way Home Kamloops Safe Suites. This youth housing project will ensure every young person in our community has a way home and safe place to be. It will both prevent and end youth homelessness by supporting youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Youth will be provided 24/7 supports and wraparound support services from many community organizations. The goal is to help youth become well and follow their dreams of education or employment to transcend homelessness forever.
Once on the page, you will see a list of all of the Campers and you can pledge them. If you can’t find who you are looking for, try searching their name or contact: admin@awayhomekamloops.com
