Tickets for the Kamloops Y Dream Home Lottery officially went on sale this morning.
There are just 15,000 tickets up from grabs, and they are priced at $100 each, while value packs are five tickets for $400.
Dream Home Director of Marketing Bryce Herman says they’ve added more value packs this year, after they sold out in three days last year.
“I expect that will take a little longer to sell out, the value packs, but again, it’s not a perfect science so my recommendation would be get out there, get together with friends, family and coworkers, and take advantage of those value packs,” he noted.
“Simple math, you’re going to get an $80 ticket out of a book of five.”
In all, he says about 40 per cent of all tickets – roughly 6,000 will be sold as value packs.
With 639 prizes up for grabs, including a home in Tobiano, Herman expects another quick sell.
“We don’t know if the location in Tobiano is going to change anything,” he noted. “I know a lot of people, the first time we did one in Westsyde thought, that’s a long ways out, but the reality is that Tobiano is really only 15 plus minutes from the top of the hill out there.”
“So it’s really not a lot different than going to Westsyde. I don’t think it’s going to have a major impact, but I do expect it’ll be a very quick pace.”
Last year’s dream home lottery tickets sold out completely in a record 12 days.
The grand prize draw this year is on July 3.
