The BC Wildfire Service continues to tackle three wildfires burning in the Savona area near the Painted Bluffs Provincial Park.
Fire Information Officer Taylor MacDonald says things are looking good at the moment, and that two of three fires are being held, while the third is under control.
“Today we have six personnel attended the Painted Bluffs Provincial Park and we have three personnel responding to Eagle Hills and they are also being shared kind of between Hardi Hill,” she said. “So in total there are about nine personnel up in those three Savona ones today.”
The Eagle Hill fire burning at 0.06 hectares is the one that is under control, while the Hardi Hill fire (0.01 hectare) and the Painted Bluffs Provincial Park Fire (about 1 hectare) are under control.
MacDonald says there were 19 personnel on site last night, along with the helicopters and air tankers.
The fires are believed to be caused by lightning.
