TRU President Brett Fairbairn
The President of TRU says what the vision for the university’s future is, is not a question he can answer on his own.
Brett Fairbairn is hoping for lots of community input from people in Kamloops and elsewhere, even if they aren’t directly involved with TRU.
“The question of where we are going to go next is one that a lot of people have asked me. I heard about it during my process of onboarding at TRU and during my last three months in this role,” he said. “I invite you whether you are a student, a faculty member, staff member, a member of TRU’s surrounding communities, I invite you to participate in our process and to share your thoughts and ideas.”
The first of five phases into Envision TRU was launched in March of this year, and the plan will guide the university for ten years, starting next March.
Phase two of planning work gets underway this week, with two community meetings scheduled at the Desert Gardens on Seymour Street on July 10 and 17, while the third will be on July 11 at the Brock Activity Centre.
