Trans Mountain says it increased cell phone service and put in wifi at four of its five work camps in the Kamloops area.
Those camps are in Valemount, Clearwater, Merritt and at the Ohamil reserve near Ruby Creek, just west of Hope.
It says those improvements will not leave those areas when the pipeline is done being built, saying it will be a legacy benefit from the pipeline.
Meanwhile, for its camp in Blue River, Trans Mountain says cell service and internet capacity appear to already be good enough for when workers arrive.
It says it will improve the wireless network there, if needed.
It also says the same infrastructure has also been put in at its temporary stockpile sites and laydown yards.
In the spring of 2019, while speaking to the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, Trans Mountain president Ian Anderson assured to board members that there would be sufficient internet coverage at its work camps.
