Tk’emlups te Secwepemc says for the third time in six months, someone has been trying to impersonate Kukpi7 Rosanne Casimir.
In an notice online, she says there was another situation where someone claimed to be the Chief, noting that all correspondence from Chief and Council will come from official emails and on a Tk’emlups letterhead.
“Neither Tk’emlups Chief and Council or staff would be requesting donations verbally,” Casimir said. “Any misrepresentation of Chief and Council, staff or our organization is not acceptable.”
“During COVID, times have been challenging for many which has resulted in a rise in false claims for help. There are supports available. If you need help, please reach out for assistance.”
Casimir is asking anyone who might have been contacted by someone claiming to be her to reach out to the Tk’emlups communications department.
