
B.C. health officials are reporting 75 new COVID-19 cases in the province today, 12 of which were in Interior Health.
There were 44 cases in Fraser Health, along with 17 in Vancouver Coastal Health, and one each in Island Health and Northern Health.
Earlier in the day, Interior Health told NL News there would be a data correction after 41 cases were reported in the health authority yesterday, but that data correction was not immediately clear today.
Active cases are at 1,111 with 113 people in hospital, 34 in intensive care. It is the lowest number of active cases in B.C. since August 31, 2020, while the the number of people in the ICU is the lowest its been November 7, 2020.
There were three new deaths reported, taking the death toll to 1,747 people.
On the vaccine front, there were 81,934 total doses administered since yesterday, 70,114 of which were second doses. There are now 77.5 per cent of adults who have gotten a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 25.9 per cent are fully vaccinated.
Similarly, 76 per cent of people over the age of 12 have gotten one dose of a vaccine, while 24.2 per cent are fully vaccinated.
“In particular, for anyone who has not yet had your first dose, take a few minutes to book your appointment today,” a statement from Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry said. “And, for those who are already vaccinated, encourage those around you to do the same.”
“Getting vaccinated is your ticket to travel and safe social connections. It is also our shared path to putting COVID-19 behind us as soon as possible. Let’s get moving forward to the brighter days ahead.”
There are now 144,466 people who are considered to have recovered from COVID-19, about 98 per cent of the 147,346 cases in British Columbia.
