The Thompson-Nicola Regional District says Chief Financial Officer Doug Rae “is no longer with the organization.”
In a short press release, the organization says will not comment further on the matter, citing privacy legislation.
But the TNRD did thank Doug Rae for his ten years of service, noting the search for a permanent replacement will get underway immediately.
“The TNRD has appointed Carla Fox as the interim CFO, effective immediately,” the statement said. “Ms. Fox has served as the Deputy CFO since joining the TNRD in June of 2022, and she has an extensive background in financial management in the private sector and in local government.”
Rae, who was hired in 2012, worked closely with former TNRD Chief Administrative Officer, Sukh Gill, during his tenure.
While remaining quite tight-lipped on the matter, TNRD Board Chair Ken Gillis has told NL News that Rae’s departure has nothing to do with the Sukh Gill affair, or the subsequent BDO Canada forensic audit.
Gillis was also emphatic that there is nothing criminal related to Rae’s dismissal.
He also says TNRD has no intention to release any further information about Rae’s departure now or in the future, and would also not confirm whether the outgoing CFO was fired.
