Logan Edmonstone turned aside 48 shots as the Kamloops Blazers were beaten 3-1 by the Seattle Thunderbirds Tuesday night.
The 16-year-old Edmonstone has impressed since he made his WHL debut against the Kelowna Rockets earlier this month. The Saskatoon native has allowed 13 goals on 149 shots, giving him a 3.61 goals against average and a 0.913 save percentage.
Vojtech Vochvest thought he had scored his first WHL goal with a shot from the point five minutes into the opening period, but it was later credited to Zach Pantelakis.
Update: the goal is now being awarded to Pantelakis

It was the only offence the youthful Blazers – who dressed their youngest lineup of the year – managed.
They featured six players in their 16-year-old season – Edmonstone, defenceman Isa Guram, and forwards Pantelankis, Nathan Behm, Tommy Lafreniere, and Andrew Thomson – along with 15-year-old forward Ty Bonkowski, who made his WHL debut.
Nishaan Parmar tied the game for Seattle in the first period, before goals from Nathan Pilling in the second and Jeremy Hanzel in the third allowed the Thunderbirds to pull away.
Edmonstone was credited with the loss, while Seattle’s Scott Ratzlaff stopped 31 of 32 shots to pick up the win.

The Blazers dropped to 20-40-3-3, which gives them 46 points in 66 games. They sit at the bottom of the WHL standings, eight points back of Seattle who improved to 26-37-2-0, good for 54 points in 65 games.
The Blazers play the Prince George Cougars in a home-and-home this weekend to close out the season. They’ll host the Western Conference-leading Cougars Friday night, and play on the road Saturday night.
They’ll be without defenceman Ryan Michael as he will be undergoing surgery on a nagging lower body issue this week.
