Kamloops Blazers forward Jordan Keller has been nominated for the WHL’s Most Sportsmanlike Player award.
Keller, the Kamloops native who was acquired by the Blazers in the Fraser Minten trade, will go up against Edmonton’s Gavin Hodnett, Tri-City’s Jordan Gavin, and Moose Jaw’s Brayden Yager, who won the Brad Hornung Memorial Trophy last season.
It’s the first ever WHL end-of-season award nomination for Keller, who put up 43 points and 14 penalty minutes in 46 games with the Blazers this season.
The 19-year-old had another eight points (five goals and three assists) and two penalty minutes in 23 games with the Saskatoon Blades, to finish the season with 51 points in 69 games.
A third round draft pick of the Blades in the 2020 WHL Draft, Keller has 82 points (36 goals and 46 assists) and 22 penalty minutes in 143 WHL regular season games.
Keller is the third consecutive Blazers forward to be nominated for the award, joining Caedan Bankier last season, and Logan Stankoven who won the award in the 2021-22 season.
The winner of the 2023/24 Brad Hornung Memorial Trophy will be announced on May 2.
