Kamloops RCMP say a 32-year-old man who was reported missing five months ago has been found dead, though they say the death is not believed to be suspicious at this time.
Police say the occupants of a helicopter told them about the possibility of a body in the Thompson River yesterday, April 16.
Mounties say they were able to find and recover the body with the help of Kamloops Search and Rescue.
They also confirmed it to be that of the missing 32-year-old man – who was last seen in the Mission Flats area – though police did not release an identity, in order to protect his privacy.
“The Kamloops RCMP Detachment offers its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said. “At this time, no criminality is suspected by police. The investigation will remain with the BC Coroners Service.”
