UPDATE April 9 –

The BC Wildfire Service says the fire closer to Spences Bridge has been extinguished.

The 6 hectare fire near Nooaitch though is still listed as active this morning.

Also, the fire at Agate Creek has also been put out.

Another two fires are burning in the area of Highway 8 between Merritt and Spences Bridge.

The larger of the two is estimated to be 6 hectares in size, and it’s burning at Nooaitch.

The BC Wildfire Service says it is a human caused fire, and was first discovered on April 7.

A second smaller fire is also burning closer to Spences Bridge at 0.43 hectares.

It’s also a human caused fire, and was also first discovered yesterday.

A third fire, first discovered on April 4 at Agate Creek, is still listed as active as of this morning.

No official cause, but it’s still 0.01 hectares in size.
